Field Notes - Lorn
Yet another entry from the field notes of Jesst Jachorien (who is keeping this blog afloat), an intrepid biologist and explorer who travels the world cataloging dangerous and mysterious fauna from around the world of Gaia!
This time he’s taking a look at the Lorn, a creature mentioned a few times throughout the Blades novels.
Lorn - the Desert Menace
Highly Aggressive. Lorn will commonly attempt to crush their prey by using their own body weight and falling on them. Lorn are also capable of attacking with their tongues, typically measuring five feet long. Size of the average male (TOP) and female (BOTTOM) compared to the average Avari male. Besides the obvious size difference, male lorn are also far more brightly colored than females. Both genders, however, are able to shift the color of their scales to better blend in with their environments.
